WHY A MEDITATION ROUTINE?
Have you ever sat down to meditate and your mind continues to wander? You cannot stop thinking? You continue replaying conversations, making lists, feeling anxious about the next day? It's hard to just sit down, quiet the mind, and start meditating! This is why we need a meditation routine. A way to begin our meditation by letting go of thoughts and preparing the mind to concentrate + ending our practice in a way to help us stay in that meditative state long after we've gotten up from our pillows. There are 3 parts to every meditation routine: the beginning (right when we sit down), middle (the actual meditation part), and end (how we close our meditation). Each part serves in creating our meditation routine. When we find the right types of meditation methods + techniques that work according to our natural abilities + personality, it cultivates in us dedication + motivation to maintain our meditation practice over time, leading to long-term peace + happiness.

With literally hundreds of ways of meditating, there is a practice suited for everyone. Often times we only hear of a handful of methods and how much they have benefitted our friends and family. So, when we try meditating in that same way and it doesn’t work for us, we become frustrated and stop trying altogether.

My own experience of meditating for most of my life + my training as a Certified Meditation Teacher + working with individuals over the years to create and build their own meditation practices, has taught me that there is no one size fits all approach to meditation.
When we find a meditation routine that works with our natural disposition, temperament, + character, we are more likely to maintain it over time.
A regular meditation practice helps us to better cope with the ups + downs of life, decreases stress + anxiety, increases calmness + joy, and brings more life satisfaction.
